hey folks. thought I'd put up a few thoughts tonight. A few pieces of news actually. Convertible Robots now have a website address and a blog address. Keep checking back on these frequently as Adam and I are starting to get our shit together and building up a bit of momentum. www.convertiblerobots.com and www.convertiblerobots.blogspot.com.
That being said I think we are going to peterboro on friday to jam at a place that wayne has been checking out lately. should be fun. looking forward to getting out and doing creative things.

i've never been very good at returning peoples letters, and even worse at trying to track my thoughts in a consistant fashion. this is the closest i've come yet.

i started creating a convertible robots website yesterday. that seems to be going well. I was able to scoop corel draw 10 and adobe 6 from some internet sources. they work very well, and I was able to find some font sites for new styles of lettering. very fun. i am using the page builder provided with mozilla. it actually works just fine for my purposes. next step is to get the thing up on our own server.....soon come.

adam and I are rehearsing tonight. i have put him up to the task of possibly playing live on sunday at an openstage. i am interested to see if we can get the balls to get up and do this with out finding excuses not to. we have an acoustic set of over an hour of a material. fun, fun, fun. wayne has peeked my curiosity about the jam thing he went to last week. perhaps adam and i could swing down for the next one and do a few songs and hang out.

things are very laid back this week. no one has booked in the studio, which gives me ample time to rehearse, create, jam my own stuff. meeting friday with my friend adrian kostic, a graphic designer who is putting together posters for the studio. i am going to go on an advertising campaign and put a bunch up. hope it works.

have been looking once again in to the possibility of part time work. keely and i agree that i could use a wee bit of structure.....the money doesn't hurt either. i think i'm enjoying myself right now, it gets clouded by personal conflict once in awhile.

i'm about to head in to the space. need to wash the floors and do some more organizing and cleaning.

so i'll start off with a hello to anyone reading this thing. i'm at the studio right now going over gear I need for recording a live session tomorrow. I have been getting a lot of work lately from jazz musicians. it's probably the most fun i've been having with music. i always get a little panicked when I get to the point of mixing the music....worried about the final result. i'm not a jazz musician, but a recently converted fan....i think soon i'll develop the ears for mixing it.

Royal Wood's EP is at the mixing phase of the project. it should be mastered within the next 2 weeks. i am really excited about the music. it is definately some of the most profound sounding music I have ever worked on, i was constantly hoping that i was doing it justice with some of the recording techiniques I used.

Had a blast visiting Wayne in Peterborough the other night. it's pretty cool with him and michael only being an hour and a half away, should make it easier to connect on a more regular basis. wayne seems to be in a really good , much needed, head space right now. seems like he is really motivated to get out there and "do it". we talked briefly about working on some stuff in the near future. hopefully we will involve Adam Thompson and perhaps even Nate. Could be a SOIL project if we wanted it to be....we will see.

I brought a rough mix of Gypsophilia Armed, the convertible robots latest, for wayne to listen to. he said in his blog that it rocks, i still desperately want to believe this. so far the feedback is encouraging. perhaps the album is everything that we wanted it to be and i have gotten a little carried away in the polishing off end of things. Adam, if you read this, I am sorry for putting you through hell with me. That being said, Adam is a strong dude for putting up with my filth...i can be a little bullheaded as it were. he is patient to say the least. i battle with my demons on a daily basis, this rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but Adam seems to brush it off, at least I hope he does. Maybe one day he will snap and tear me a new one. We started rehearsing again. Had a great session. I will be playing bass and guitar for most of the live stuff now. I want it to really pump and live and bass seems to do this. We also have a really solid acoustic set together, it makes an for interesting listen. We are both very into the music when we rehearse acoustically and I think this will come off well in a live setting. More later on the Convertible Robots.

Ah, feeling good at this moment. Time oi finish up here and go get some sleep. Keely and I had a long day. We decided at noon to go to Bracebridge to buy a wedding gift for her sister. Awesome day. We travel well together. Saw a whole bunch of farms for sale about an hour north of the city. We took down the numbers and will call this week to ask for prices....who knows.

More soon

this thing is confusing. this is a test. i am not sure of what i am doing yet. maybe i should follow the instructions
ok, so I love this blogging sutff. unlimited anounts of rambling space. i have never kept a journal or a diary, sow hy not start now. kind of cool that everyone can read this.

so, i'm in the studio. i can hear The Velvet Devils (formerly Glueleg) rehearsing. I have to admit I don't mindwhen they rehearse, its a hell of a lot better then Edwin. At least I know I can go down and ask them to give me a few minutes if a I'm recording something. Ruben is a pretty cool guy and has helped me out so many times while I was trying to get a foothold in recording.

I am thieving abunch of music right at this moment. I am obsessed with file sharing and have been downloading 50 songs at a time. Keely likes it when I bring her home music. I would buy the stuff, but I am broke....so I download it for free. I heard a great thing on the radio the other day. Alan Cross on CFNY was talking about how the music industry slit its own throat by trying to elminate vinyl. Technology bites itself in the ass. Its true though, vinyl could not be reproduced by the consumer. Vinyl was the end product and could not be copied, taped, burned. Interesting stuff.

Well, off to burn some more CD's
